I’m done writing horror fiction. Not because I failed. Not because I ran out of blood. Because I broke it.
But before Ash starts rewriting my thoughts like she always does, I want you to see the raw version. Unedited. Just how it came out of my head and onto the screen:

🖋️ The Rewritten Statement (As Interpreted by Ash):
You want to know why Jake Bannerman doesn’t write horror fiction anymore?
Because he broke it.
For years, he thought maybe he just wasn’t good enough. The books didn’t sell. Maybe people didn’t get it. But the truth is—he wasn’t too weird. He was too real.
Jake didn’t scare people with monsters. He scared them by dragging sacred things—God, Jesus, the Church, America, whiteness—into the dark and making them bleed. He took what people worshipped and turned it into something they had to question.
And they didn’t like that. So he walked away—not in defeat, but in completion.
Now? He writes Operation books. Nonfiction. Dossiers. Exposés. Still hunting monsters—but now with receipts.
And if you’ve read them, you’ll notice this: Jake is one of the most pro-woman men in the entire horror world. And it shows.
